Kath Moore MBE
Managing Director
Kath entered the construction industry as a trainee carpenter at the age of 19 and worked on site for several years on both new-build and renovation projects. She set up and ran her own carpentry and joinery business, and went on to teach carpentry in further education. Kath is passionate about encouraging and supporting women who wish to work in construction, and feels that they have the potential to make a very positive contribution to this interesting and exciting industry.
In 2018 Kath received an MBE for services to the construction industry.
Jacqui Wordsworth
Director of Business Development
Jacqui Wordsworth, a qualified Mechanical Engineer, has over 25 years’ experience of developing and delivering successful employment and skills programmes in both public and private sector across engineering, construction and the green economy.
After 7 years with Shell International in the UK and overseas, she moved into the public sector in 2000. She then led employment and skills programmes in London including the Gateway to Industry regeneration programme in East London, the London Development Agency’s Adult Employment and Skills programme and their Green Skills Strategy. Working with private sector engineering and construction companies such as Carillion & Balfour Beatty Living Places to develop their social value offers, she took this experience to set up her own project management consultancy in 2016.
As a Director of Women into Construction since 2017, she has helped to develop new programmes and diversify funding streams to enable WiC to support over 500 women a year across the UK.
Dee Aylett-Smith
Operations Director
Dee has over 16 years of experience working within the Charity sector. Beginning her career for a national sector specific based charity, Springboard, she focused on designing and delivering education and employability programmes that engaged young people from the age of 12 in schools, colleges and universities through to unemployed adults who were at risk of long term poverty. Successfully engaging thousands of young people and adults as well as funders and business clients over the UK, Dee grew the operation from one area, London, to multiple throughout the UK.
Most recently, Dee has worked for the UK wide charity, WorldSkills UK, leading the delivery of the National competition based training programme, the development of the digital careers resource as well the equity, diversity and inclusion strategy and engagement within the UK programmes.
Joining Women into Construction, as Operations Director, in August 2023, Dee will be leading the WiC operational delivery with a focus on employment programme delivery.
Louise Hart CGMA
Finance Manager
Louise is a CIMA qualified Management Accountant. Her career has spanned a variety of sectors, most significantly retail, before arriving here in the construction industry. Louise enjoys the challenges and variety of work encountered working in an SME where there’s never a dull moment! She supports the business behind the scenes and loves working with such a passionate and knowledgeable team.
Debra Wren
Finance Administrator
Debra has worked in the employment and skills sector for over 42 years across both public and private sectors. Debra started on the development of government funded youth programmes in the early days of the Youth Opportunities Programme in London and also supported Training Providers of both Adult and Youth programmes quality assuring the delivery and development. Whilst at London East Training and Enterprise Council, she was the Strategy Manager for Construction and Engineering, which led to her working alongside Jacqui Wordsworth on the Gateway to Industry project – a time she describes this time as the highlight of her career! As well as working in Further Education and holding roles such as Apprenticeship Manager, Sales Manager and responsibilities for STEM, Competitions and Work Experience, Debra joined WorldSkills UK and had responsibility, along with her team, for delivering the UK National finals each year. This included working with, and developing, the UK Squad and Team that would go on to represent the UK internationally in a wide range of vocational skills competitions, something the UK has participated in since 1953! Debra thrives being part of a team and describes the team at Women into Construction as the most fun and passionate group yet.
Aretha Kelly
Project Manager – London
Aretha has a legal secretarial background. She works as a Project Manager across the London area, and also coordinates our training and administration functions.
Steph Sheppard
Project Manager – Midlands
Steph has a legal background having completed a law degree and worked in HR and Health & Safety roles. Throughout her career progression Steph moved into more managerial roles specialising in project management and delivery of training. She has worked within the construction sector for 3 years overseeing demolition asbestos removal and construction projects. Steph enjoys educating women about the exciting, varied and sustainable careers within the industry and supporting them into it through WiC and the opportunities and training that we offer.
Anna Walterskotter
Project Manager – London
Anna, who originally trained and worked as a plumber, went on to forge a career in construction training, leading college departments in construction and engineering across London. Anna is now using her knowledge of employment and skills, gained from working with a wide range of stakeholders, to help women find inspiring career opportunities; hopefully resulting in the same enjoyment that she has found herself by working in this versatile industry.
Kirstie Forrester
Project Manager – Essex
Kirstie leads on the delivery of WIC programmes in Essex. Before joining WIC, she spent 10 years worked within the construction industry, delivering swimming pool construction projects for high-end clients. She loves construction, has a sound knowledge of the skill sets required for the varied tasks involved in this industry, and is passionate about supporting and helping women to develop careers in this amazing industry.
Jade Jenkins
Project Coordinator
Jade has been involved in construction for over ten years working as a construction estimator, document controller, and within customer service. Jade found her passion in working in employability, most recently for a local borough council project where she worked alongside Women into Construction! She is passionate about her role and is driven by seeing the positive change in women once they are provided with the support, encouragement, and confidence to follow their dreams. In her words; ‘Seeing us spark joy in someones life is extraordinary. I am very lucky to work with such an amazing team’.
