Laura – Team Leader

Laura Simonelli came to WIC via a SECTA information session in Essex having previously worked in catering and as a manager of a large retail car park. Laura completed her Level 1 Health and Safety Awareness, Labourer’s CSCS card and St John Ambulance Fire Marshall training, passing with flying colours.

Laura then applied for an exclusive vacancy we had been offered as a banks person to a large cinema site in Basildon. She was selected for an interview and after receiving some interview coaching from the Client Manager she felt confident in her abilities.

Laura’s amazing personality really shone through in her interview and she was offered the role. Laura undertook traffic marshalling and gate person training, which once again she flew through. Within three weeks of signing up, Laura was working on-site and doing an amazing job.

Unfortunately, the main contractor of the site fell into administration shortly after and Laura was laid off, however, when the demolition crew were put back to work the Client Manager was able to renegotiate Laura’s return to the site directly. Laura is now working with the new main contractor McLaren Construction Group and they are pleased to have her back as a Team Leader.
